What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Is this weekend the weekend I finally get the chance to properly put some hours into BioShock Infinite? I certainly hope so. I had mixed feeling about the first four hours of the game, but I’m hoping to get beyond it and see what all the fuss is about. Also — I can only avoid spoilers for so long! What are you all playing this weekend?

There’s nothing much new out this week, so I’m guessing you’ll be playing catch up?

I’m also seriously toying with playing Dark Souls again. I never finished it, despite enjoying it more than practically any other game I’ve played in the last five years. Seriously, I need to get on it.

  I had to paint a Tau army in 24 hours once.. was a nightmare. Especially when I went out to paint my Devilfish and Hammerheads at 2am to discover the monkeys at GW had mislabelled the spraycan, was a nerdrage moment of epic proportions 😉

I’ve hit a wall in bioshock infinite, feels a bit so so, maybe finishing games lately has put me off a bit. Might start xcom again or finish far cry 3. Finally started watching season 2 of GoT so that may take precedent now that season 3 has started

If the Australia Post Gods deem it fit to deliver my copies of Luigi’s Mansion and Lego City today then I will be playing them.

Or else whatever crappy games I find for my new Nexus 7

If you’ve avoided Bioshock spoilers up till now, then make it your mission to finish the game this weekend. And if you come back still sour on the game, then my mighty heart may just be broken.

Of course, if you ditch Bioshock for Dark Souls (my true love), then I could probably forgive you. Probably.

    Which is especially funny since this is my second playthrough. YES, I said second playthrough. Despite the ridiculous game design choices, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
    
    Love the music, atmosphere, monster design and the characters.

      LOL i have to admit i really did like the idea of the game and the design, but i couldnt bring myself to play it past that first QTE (which yes i obviously died at :p)

        The game does get better. But it requires that you put up with its eccentricities. I got it for $10 from Cashconverters. Can’t complain when its that price.

Trials has its hooks in to me again, so probably that. You’re in my sights Serrels!

FatShady accepted my friend request the other day, so have some more times to aim for on tracks I thought I’d nailed.

Bought a new DSLR during the week, so will probably playing around with that too.

      I took a look myself and beat one of your times. Saw one other but didn’t get a chance to try it because I was too busy trying to platinum that first level!
      
      As a general rule if it’s anything below expert and I’ve got a time less than platinum, I haven’t tried my hardest at it yet 🙂

        I’ve been going back through the tracks on the first DLC trying to platinum as many as I can, just working up to “Hard” now I think.
        I know on Recon Rider I had the top time (even better than Shady’s!)

    Yeah, I live in Hong Kong and its been out here for a while I think. Was still kinda hard to find though, lots of places had sold out.

I’ll be catching up with friends by way of the new UVH mode in Borderlands 2. Outside of that, I’ve decided to revisit my arch nemesis, Agarest War after getting hamstrung by design flaws. It’s forced me to break a vow to never buy DLC weapon packs… I’ll also be checking out Dishonored, continuing my Pokemon Black 2 journey and working through the SCII: HotS campaign.

This week I’ve been grinding out the last few trophies for Assassin’s Creed Liberation, only 1 more to go and that is Max MP rank (horrible MP the game has, it should never have been attempted), this is my second time through (after the save file corruption problem) and I still think the game is worthy of the franchise, had more fun with this than ACIII. Hopefully there are more AC Vita games and they get abit more love this time, obviously the polish was lacking with Liberation.

So with only the Wifi version and tethering with my phone not a great option, I have started Sly 4 on the Vita and this will be my main game over the coming days.

Hoping to get sometime over the weekend to start a game on the PS3 though, likely to be The Walking Dead (Telltale version), seeing as I never picked it up til recently.

I’m replaying Infinite on 1999 mode. It’s actually pretty awesome picking up all the subtle details now that I know what is actually going on. I’ve actually just gotten to one of my favourite sections of the game (the Hall of Heroes). Not sure if I’ll continue past that though, because I have a backlog up to my elbows – I have a craving for Bioshock and Deadspace 2 is installed and ready to go to. Then there’s Darksiders 2 and all the stuff I’ve got on playstation plus. Yeah, I know, first world problems and all that.

The boys will be dropping over tonight for some D&D 3.5 action and the I’ll be finishing GTA IV which I snapped up for only $7.50 with the extra content.

Just picked up a Wii U so will be hitting up Mario Zombieu monster hunter 3, maybe a bit of bioshock and xcom on pc and maybe Some farcry 3 on ps3 and some tombraider and the new gears on 360

  I’m doing something similar, but going back to Bioshock 1. I don’t have 2 and I never played it. I basically wrote it off as soon as I found out you were a big daddy. It seemed like they couldn’t have missed the point of the first game more.

    Nah I get the whole Mr Bubbles thing, its not so bad. It goes deeper in the whole Mr Bubble/Little sister “lore”. Plus more great music. I think it’s the cash grab MP thing I hated. I’m glad they cut it. I also am not sure it’s as long as 1 and 3.

        Yep it was short. I finished it yesterday afternoon. But seeing as I got the ultimate edition it has a bit of single player DLC. It was ok, the game I mean. I guess that’s what tacking on a game to your MP means. Hello Mass Effect 3

Well I finished Infinite last weekend and I don’t think I’m ready for a collectible hunting playthrough yet.

I might either give Bioshock 2 another try after being somewhat underwhelmed with it the first time I tried to play it, or I might go back and do the Skyrim DLC we bought last year that I haven’t played yet. I also still haven’t played the Year of the Snake DLC for Sleeping Dogs despite buying it 2 weeks ago.

Tomb Raider for me.. I finished Bioshock Infinite over easter so I’m craving another good story, I hope Toumb Raider delivers.

It sounds like I’m in the minority here, but I could never get into Dark Souls.

Not a lot of gaming for me this weekend – although m’lady (yes been watching too much GoT) is working on Saturday which is a nice surprise so that’ll be my window of opportunity. Most likely be playing BioShock Infinite, or Guild Wars 2 if my old man is online. I’ll need to show him the ropes.

I will provably do a little bit if jumping between Defiance, Lego City Undercover & Luigi’s Mansion 2. Both Lego City U and Luigi’s Mansion 2 are brilliant (getting some genuine laughs from Lego City) and so far am enjoying Defiance however it is a little early for me to reserve any kind of proper judgement of it.

I defintely suggest getting back in to Dark Souls. Until this week I’d only played through it once with one character, and that was a massive slog. I finally started up a new game and am completely blitzing through the early game, and having a ball doing so. Then just as you think you’re absolutely killing it Dark Souls picks you up by your collar, sneers disdainfully, and starts kicking your arse all over again.

Just finished FarCry 3 and have hardly slept this week due to painting as we are getting new carpets in a few hours. As a result, really looking forward to starting something new? I think I’ll put some more time into Hitman Absolution. Crazy hard as I have not played a game like this for ages, but starting to get back into it.

Also most likely working more on the University of Trials stuff – Remember there is a sweet comp only for AU/NZ so check it out.

Just started path of exile which is really enjoyable so far, well worth a look if you like the clicky clicky kill
Other than that probably some bioshock and maybe some torchlight 2 or dark souls

I just finished Bioshock Infinite and I just bought Dead Space 3, NFS Most Wanted and Luigi’s Mansion. On the shame pile that I am hoping to play at some stage is DmC, Black Ops and inFamous 2.

But I was inspired by Serrel’s Games Workshop article to actually get some miniature painting done – so that will be my plan this weekend! Let’s hope I complete some regiments!
