Horrid Friday The 13th NES Game Gets This Special Edition Figurine

Friday the 13th, the 1989 game, is widely considered to be one of the worst video games of all time, certainly one of the worst ever made for the NES. So of course it rates a special edition figurine — Jason Vorhees in the strange purple getup he wore for the final, deeply unsatisfying boss battle.

Figures.com has all the details, plus two much larger-size, full-body presentations of the figurine. It's a Comic-Con exclusive by NECA and will be available at the company's booth in San Diego. Figures.com adds that its packaging will replicate the hideous box cover LJN chose for the game, too. Oh, it's $US25.

There are much worse NES games out there like deadly towers. Friday the 13th is considered decent.

I dunno about worst... did anyone else ever play those games which were so bad they couldn't get the Nintendo seal of approval, so they came in these double-adapter cartridges which required you to plug a valid cartridge into the back of them so they could authenticate on the console?

God I wish I could remember the titles... We owned quite a few of them because they were so cheap.

They are australian made HES titles. I have a few. They are quite collectable now.

I bought Silent Assault back in the day. It came on a black cartridge. It was terrible. I had the choice between that or Super Mario Bros 2. Regret that to this day.

From memory - HES refused to pay the license fee - it wasn't that they were crap (though they were).

Actually, in retrospect, sidewinder was pretty good fun co-op.

      Like Bible Stories?

Not sure that bible stories was HES worth a bit today though
