This batch of recently green-lit games looks fantastic, and not just because it includes the game development simulator where piracy battles piracy. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming games that will eventually release on Steam, shall we?
Bleed
“An action platformer focused on stylist, acrobatic dodging and fluid, challenging gameplay.”
Game Dev Tycoon
“Start your own game development company and replay the history of gaming in this business simulation game. Start your business in a garage in the 80’s.”
Legends of Eisenwald
“A unique mix of RPG and strategy set in a realistic medieval world, Legends of Eisenwald combines dynamic campaigns with fast-paced, yet strategic, turn-based combat.”
The Legend
“‘The Legend’” is here to leave you afraid of the dark for the entirety of your life.” (A tall order!)
RIOT
“As the economical crisis advances, the discontent of an entire population cannot help but outburst in Riots, where the sounds of many voices get heard at once.”
Stardew Valley
“Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-like RPG with support up to 4-player co-op!”
I think I’m looking forward to Stardew Valley and RIOT the most, what about you?

Stardew Valley reminds me of Harvest Moon.
This is in no way a bad thing.
So is Game Dev tycoon just a remake of Game Dev Story or…?
That was the word on the street when everyone was getting their schadenfreude on over the complaining pirates thing. The irony was lost on them.
Well screw those guys then.
But… but they’re indies! That must mean they shit unicorn poop and puppies with lisps!
I just thought of a brilliant game. It will be a retro-themed FPS with 2D sprites instead of 3D models, a kind of love letter to the old days of gaming. I think the main character will be something really cliched like a Space Marine, and he’ll use weapons like shotguns and chainguns.
I just have to throw him into a craaaazy setting, like he falls into a portal to hell for some reason, and there’s all these scary demons and stuff. It’ll be a really dark game, so I think I might call it something like GLOOM.
The internet will LOVE it. Hope no one steals my idea though.
Do the music in MIDI. Win.
Yeah, Stardew Valley and Riot look like my faves on this list. As in, ones I might buy outside of a giant indie steam sale that prices the others down to something stupid like a buck. Eisenwald looks like it’s probably worth more than a buck, but for PiratePete’s sake, I haven’t even finished the Gothic/Risen series yet.
The artwork for the last game of the front cover looks amazing
Now that Riot game looks interesting
Bleed is the stand out for me, I love the intensity from that trailer and me and my missus would lose plenty of hours into Stardew Valley.
