Watch This Australian Magician Walk Backwards Through Every Board Game Ever

Beat the Cheat is a magic show about games. All kinds of games: board games, old games, card games, video games. The tagline goes "[i]f you've ever stolen money from the bank in Monopoly, bumped the table in Jenga or peaked at your nanna's cards while playing Go Fish, this is the show for you." This promotional video for the show is brilliant. As a complete idiot, I'm still trying to work out how they pulled it off.

The video shows one of the magicians going through a house stacked with every kind of game you can imagine, taking part in all of them... but somehow backwards? I'm so confuddled but also somehow impressed.

The song in the video isn't half bad either. It's called 'Tetris' by Melbourne band Flap!

He walks backwards and the film is reversed.

Yeah, I know but it looks really natural.

Yeah. Gotta say it does look good. I bet it would have taken a few takes to do it in one shot. Probably a few trips and bruises on the way. I laughed at the scrabble game.

Had to turn the sound off, that song is damn annoying.
Seen the same thing done in this clip a few months back done for a music clip where he is walking up a crowded street. It is pretty cool to watch.

The style reminds me of the Coldplay song The Scientist... except he apparently learnt the whole song backwards.

That's really impressive. There are bits I can't figure out. Particularly the milk bit and the water gun bit. :P

The milk he spits out and could have been holding it in his mouth for a good chunk of time beforehand, not too sure about the water gun.

Yeah, but I was watching for that, and he engages in conversation immediately 'before' spitting the milk.

There's a chance he loads it up when he wipes his mouth. The video is a little jumpy there.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's one of those "ever-filling" trick milk glasses.

They typically have a button on one side that you can push or stick down which forces a small amount of liquid in a glass to the outside. If it was coke or something similar you'd be able to see the difference quite easily, which is why you would use milk as it's more opaque.

Likewise, the biscuit is most likely one of those trick plastic ones that you can pretend to take a bite out of, then push a button to pop it back out.

              Awww c'mon! Spoilers dude!

Anyone with five minutes and the right keywords can find out this kind of stuff. It doesn't make you smart or special. Just a guy with too much time on your hands.

Don't ruin the magic for those of use who want to be amazed.

I think the sneakiest part is where he drinks half a cup of milk backwards. I couldn't quite place where he drank it originally, but I suspect it was off camera, after the chess bit.

    +100 for clever video
-99 for THAT Portal reference. It wasn't even clever.

The Braid reference was good though :P

Go to admit, i'm the guy who arranged the boogle cubes. (im in the kitchen) A bit late to the party I am...
