Community Kudos

Alright, last Kudos before E3. Let's get this thing crackin'.

Man I'm tired. I am really, really tired. It's been a hectic week with local news, Xbox One news. Just a big week. And tomorrow I'm flying out to Los Angeles for E3. I fully expect to be a sweaty, drained, blotchy mess by the end of next week. Wish me luck!

Anyways, onto the noms!

I can't believe it. I literally cannot believe my peepers. Welbot was the first to nom this week? How can this be. Welbot is the undisputed King of the Stop Press Nom! No-one drops last minute emails like this guy! He actually sent an email early? Man. It's real fun living here in opposite land. I never want to go home!

Welbot Kudos nom time! First off, @luke! He posted up a couple of keys in TAY, and I was fortunate enough to score myself a copy of The Walking Dead! w00t! What a legend! Looking forward to trying it out!
Next nom (and it's a BIG one) goes to Dan! @dkzeitgeist! He's a champ! Went to meet him for a meal, and the dood ended up footing the bill! Like damn! What a guy! So dreamy!
Last of all, a non TAYbie. Rogue13. Founder of Polycount, Senior FX artist at Sony (He's done Scribbletaku too!). Out of the blue, sent me $50US so I could go and see The Meanies and Evil Eddie this weekend, just because he happened to have the paypal window open at the time I mentioned it! Like.. damn! I've known the guy a long time now, and he's always full of surprises, but this really blew me away! :)
I'm totally HYPE for the weekend! TAYbie meat tomorrow evening, The Meanies, Evil Eddie, and wrestling on Sunday, and public holiday on Monday! w00t!
HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE!

This next nomination made me feel very hungry.

D.C. I nominate Mrs. Freeze, wife of @freezespreston. She made us an amazing roast dinner last Saturday. I haven't had a home cooked meal in ages. She deserves to win, Mark. She deserves to win.

Oh man, I really want a roast dinner. So bad.

Greenius Kudos Noms (AKA THE GKN) was ridiculously brief.

Greenius Beavwa

But he did change the font to bold, so there's that.

Noms were sporadic this week. Usually there's some sort of theme to them -- someone went on a Steam gift binge, someone wrote a super nice post, or organised a meet-up. But this week? It was all over the joint. How am I supposed to create a compelling nom narrative with this?

(I'm only kidding. All noms are created equal.)

Shane I would like to nominate @BDKIAF for... forcefully offering... to buy me a new game. I think I talked him down off that ledge, but the “offer” is still appreciated.
And @DC, because he brings an air of enthusiasm to every topic, and is a rare glass-half-full type of guy in an ever-increasing vortex of cynicism that is the gaming world. (Also, it would be cool/funny if he achieved the Holy Hat Trick and won Kudos three times in a row.)

In other news -- Shane's wife knows someone that I know. This is a mindblowing coincidence.

RedArtifice I've got a Nom for Mashaa, for gifting me a Thomas Was Alone code. Thomas shall now be with others!

Did you get it on Steam or on PSN? I'm super keen to play this game on my PS Vita for some reason...

I love Jimu's blatant disregard for any sort of bullet point consistency. Genius.

Jimu I nominate
@negativezero
Because:
A: He tells stuff wot is good (IE: news and bollox) 2, He has a cute avatar (Totally underage and I don't give a flock) -- He seems to be having a shitty week and needs some free stuff to cheer him up

And, finally, Scree's noms got me curious -- how did Thatgamecompany help you with your cosplay?

Scree I would like to nominate Nob for gifting me Dust: An elysian tale. I would also like to nominate That game company because they helped me when I was stuck with Nova's cosplay!

I really need to hear this story!

Okay dokey! I'll leave it there. Time for me to go home and pack frantically, charge up a million devices and then freak out when I can't find my passport.

Congrats to Mrs Freeze, who wins this week's Community Kudos. I know this is a first, and she might not post on Kotaku (to my knowledge) but in the absence of any stand out multinoms, I think that CK should go to someone who can rustle up a good roast. Also, I'm really, really hungry.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Community Kudos is your chance to reward Kotaku readers/posters who have done incredible things throughout the past week: sporadic acts of kindness, deft commenting skills -- if someone deserves to be called out for being an incredible human being, Community Kudos is the place to do it. Send nominations directly to me at this address! The winner gets a cool prize from my massive box of stuff.*

Disclaimer -- I'm am really bad at sending stuff out, I have a list, I haven't forgotten, I'm totally getting round to it. Sorry everyone!

    MRS FREEZE!!!! \o/

    #groundbreakingnoms2013

Your baby can kinda crawl? Pfft, get back to us when he can climb.

Oh, right forgot to mention that.
I was having a lot of trouble with the scarf as I've never played Journey. I was getting a headache as the scarf patterns seemed to constantly change, In my confusion I emailed that game company explaining my dilemma. I received a response from Sunni P.
He gave me a link to this
    https://getsatisfaction.com/thatgamecompany/topics/where_can_i_find_the_design_of_the_journey_scarf

It appears to be the actual textures and helped me a heck of a lot. And that's why I nominated them. Also, they helped me even though I told them that I had not played and did not own the game.
    =D

No hattrick for @dc. I am disappoint.

There was a lot less doubt this week too. He even trolled for a bit!

Aw thanks for the nom, man. :')

      HOORAY FOR MRS. FREEZE THOUGH!

Mrs Freeze is cool, but she's no DAN! *swooon*
