There's A New Sonic Out On PC. It's A Fangame, And It Looks Amazing.

Don't let the 'fangame' moniker fool you. This is the real deal. The game, called Sonic After the Sequel, is actually a sequel to an earlier game done by the same guy, Sonic Before the Sequel.

Both are full-fledged Sonic games with their own storylines and stages, taking place between the official games: Before the Sequel between Sonic 1 and 2, and After the Sequel between Sonic 2 and 3. They also both feature their own custom soundtracks, and let you play as either Sonic or Tails.

LakeFeperd, the games' developer, is already hard at work creating another sequel, called Sonic Chrono Adventure, which will involve new characters, time travel, and a deeper story.

You can download BtS and AtS here and here, and read more about them on their respective TvTropes pages, here and here.

    So getting this!
Though sonic 3 starts literally where 2 left off so there can't be a game between the two.
Sonic desteoys death egg, sonic falls from space, tails saves him then as they are flying off the crash on Angel island and knuckles steals the emeralds while the death egg crashes into the island.

This is true, but I willing to deal with it for good gameplay!

WOW! This guys gets it, all I need to know is if speed slows when rolling.

I've been playing this game for a while now, I like how it gives you the option to play the game either in a modern form, where you just play through the game normally to get the good end, or classic, where you have to collect the chaos emeralds to get the good ending. On that note the special stage concept is a wonderful idea brilliantly executed, and it is the icing on the cake of a game with absolutely impectible level design.

Only one issue I had is the game seems to suffer from a fairly common issue that plagues alot of Sonic fangames, the final boss sequence is absurdly hard bordering on unfair in some parts, especially when compared to actual Sonic games.

But if the only complaint is something most people would be excited for, there isn't really a whole lot to complain about.

You can really seem to see the love that these guys put into the games. Heck, these guys GET Sonic, something actual dev teams on modern Sonic games seem to forget *cough*Sonic4*cough*. Shame that most of these fan games end up getting a C&D letter. Good to see one get through and into the wilds of the internet.

Better grab this while I can, if Sega's reaction to the Streets of Rage game is anything to go by. Hopefully they'll just pretend they don't know about this.

Was it supposed to start autoplaying both videos? That's seriously messed up.
