Ubisoft Wants Your Face On A Painting

Ubisoft’s latest promotion for Assassin’s Creed IV might sound silly at first, but it’s actually kinda neat. Basically, you can become part of the Assassin’s Creed universe’s history by putting your face on a huge oil painting of “an epic naval battle”.

You head to the website, pick any of the 137 characters depicted on the sketch and submit a picture of yourself imitating them. As you can see in the video above, this may involve silly faces.

After all that’s done, the rest is up to the public — folks can vote on their favourite entries via social media, which then will be immortalised on the final oil painting by the artists of the French National School of Fine Arts. The painting will even be displayed in a museum; specifically, the National Navy Museum in Paris, between November 4 and December 3.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits current-gen consoles on October 29, and PC plus next-gen consoles later this year. As for the painting, I’d say it’s worth checking out what people have been up to. Even if just for a few laughs.
