Mid-Summer Cosplay Was Wonderful This Weekend In Japan

At its heart, Wonder Festival is an event in Japan for toy models and sculptures. But wherever there are nerds, there are people dressing up!

Here's a look at some of the standout cosplay from this weekend's Wonder Festival. Many of these outfits (such as the Kamen Rider Wizard and the Raiden outfits, above) look like they'd be incredibly difficult to wear during Japan's notoriously humid summers. Kudos to the cosplayers for enduring and putting on a good show!

Have a look. Photos courtesy of Akiba Blog and Otaku.com.

Some of them are really wtf costumes and or anime in general. Good work on most of them though.

The ones with fake anime masks are creepy man.

I was liking the Kamen Rider Wizard one till I saw the close up. So many flaws

That poor little Mario girl. She can't even afford a whole skirt...overall... thing.
