Relax, Here's 270,000 Dominoes Falling Down (It's A New World Record)

It took a team of 12 people over a week to set this up. Over 270,000 dominoes, lined up painstakingly, just so one lucky guy got to knock the first one down and set a new Guinness World Record.

The feat was achieved by the team at Sinners, a "Domino Entertainment" group from Germany.

I know, the video goes for 10 minutes, but it's worth watching. Yeah, they miss a few thousand dominoes here and there, but for the most part the imagination (and execution) that went into this thing blows the mind.

Awesome! .... and then I saw all the the advertising, that really irritates me.

I thought making the sponsors as dominoes was really clever, actually.

I'd much rather have unobtrusive advertisements in the dominoes than have to pay $2.99 per new section of dominoes to watch, if you know what I mean.

This is crazy, but this kind of thing always makes me wonder. What happens if someone accidentally knocks one of them over? Can they stop the chain? Do they have a way of preventing that from happening while they build it?

I think they leave gaps at various intervals so only a segment needs to be reset if it's set off accidentally.

That kid at the tank putting the dominoes back must have had this in his head the whole time:
