Super Mario Bros For The 2600? Shut Up And Take My Money!

I'm a little late to the game on this one, but I just don't care. There's no way apart from magic— or maybe magic mushrooms — that Super Mario Bros should look this good running on an Atari 2600.

Atari Age is now selling Princess Rescue — quite possibly only for however long it takes Nintendo's lawyers to get on the phone — for $US30. For an actual physical cartridge.

I'm so horribly, horribly tempted, if only because this is one seriously impressive bit of coding

Mario Bros was a game on the 2600 back in the olde days...

Yeah, I had that on C64 back in the day... It was only the crappy single screen battle game mode though, not the full single player game/campaign...

Indeed it was. It was just "mario bros", though, which is why the NES original was "Super" Mario Bros -- and that's what this is very cleverly recreating.

As a programmer, I find this seriously impressive. I doubt there are many levels, but if they managed a decent amount on top of this, that upgrades it to amazing.
