This is a trailer for Gravity, the new movie by Children of Men director Alfonso Cuarón. If you ever had dreams of being an astronaut when you were a kid, well, I feel bad for you, son.

I saw a preview for this in the cinemas, and after it was done, the entire cinema was buzzing with people either chattering about how scary-as-shit that scenario was, or hyperventilating already.

My biggest nightmare about space is failing to intercept rinoa during “that” section in FF8. The amount of asshattery that you need to go through to get back to that scene is horrifying in only a way that a JRPG developer could make it.

This hasn’t anything to do with video games or japanese culture.
But yes, it does look pretty good.

SOLD.
One thing I appreciated watching the trailer is that there was no sound effects from the space debris colliding into the space shuttle. Sound in space is one thing Hollywood regularly gets wrong (for legitimate and illegitimate reasons) so it’s nice to see that little bit of crucial detail.

It’s difficult to tell based on the trailer so I assume that the shot that makes it appear as if she has escaped the earths orbit and is floating away is just due to the camera angle…..because that would just be ridiculous.
