We’re Excited: FreePlay 2013 Has Official Dates

The Freeplay independent games festival down Melbourne way always produces interesting insights into games development. We’ve just received word of the dates for the 2013 event: it takes place the weekend of 28-29 September at the State Library of Victoria.

If you’re in indie games development (or thinking about it), we’d definitely recommend noting those dates. The conference is also accepting applications for speakers. Here’s the description of the theme, the slightly pretentious but potentially interesting ‘Volume of Revolution’:

Volume of Revolution seeks to expose, radically upend, celebrate, critically examine and change our approach to making games. It’s looking back at our history so we can forge a better future. It’s a mathematical concept representing the cycle, the fullness, the width and breadth of our medium. It’s about loudness, and listening to the quiet voices we cannot ignore.

Anyone else planning on going?
