I know that, and I could read the kana specifically says Tee-dus, but lots of people never played KH, and they just kept calling him Tiedus. This just makes it 100% canon in the FF universe.
It was also covered in Dissidia. Plenty of people played that.
Come to think of it, I’ve never actually heard anyone refer to him as ‘tai-dus’. Always ‘tee-dus’.
finally that cleared it up for me lol, I always thought it was Tie…dus, but i was never a bitch about it like most other people, fighting over it.
I thought it was Tie-dus as well. Either way, we all know what we mean.

It’s been Tee-dus for years, though… Japanese spelling aside, it was said like that in the Kingdom Hearts series, and the same way more recently in Dissidia and Duodecim. I think people just assume Tie-dus because it’s similar to the word tide, which fits with the water-y motif the game has.
Pretty sure this was covered in Kingdom Hearts voice acting on destiny island with Wakka. Same pronunciation was used as the vid.
