So here’s the official word from The Pokemon Company on that mysterious Pokemon image that seemed to tease a Wii U game: “There is nothing to announce at this time. These are merely conceptual images.” OK. So what are these new trademarks that Siliconera has unearthed, Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament?
Could be anything. We’ve asked The Pokemon Company and are awaiting comment, but right now, “Fighters”, obviously, sounds like a fighting game. Might not be that at all, of course! It just seems curious that we’d see an image that seems to tease a game — an image in which two fighting Pokemon are about to brawl, and there’s a the fighting type symbol on the top right corner — and then have these trademarks by The Pokemon Company pop up.
We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Is it just me or is there something vaguely AR about that image?
I think it’s just you – I think the graphics of the backdrop are just quite nice.
That image just makes me hunger for a true 3D Pokemon adventure.
A 3d Pokemon adventure would be nice, but I would much prefer a pokemon snap game for wii u.
It’s genuinely surprising that we haven’t seen a modern version of that on any of the systems yet.
If this turns out to be a pokemon fighting game, then combined with Mario 3D World instead of a new Galaxy and bringing out another DK game instead of a new Metroid, fans are going to start to have total meltdowns.
That said, this could still be totally awesome 😀
Don’t you, as a fan, get tired of just the same bullshit constantly rehashed?
Creativity needs to keep moving, not just have different graphics.. Nintendo seem to refuse to accept this and keep trying to teach other companies how to make games while making razor thin profits…
