Smite Is Like League Of Legends For People Who Like Shooters And Thor

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a mission: to find the best MOBA video games can offer. I’ve tried a healthy variety — Infinite Crisis, Dawngate, DOTA 2, Prime Worlds — and while they all have their own redeeming qualities, none have hooked me quite like Smite.

Smite is a third-person MOBA from Hi-Rez studios that, from what I’ve seen so far, takes the MOBA genre and flips it on its head. If you’re the kind of player who enjoys skill shots and playing as Thor, you should probably check this one out.

In the video above I dive a bit deeper into the world of Smite, its future in eSports and more.

    • Hon is a exact rip off of dota retard dont even know that they completely ripped heroes skills and just changed the models and the name its a fail game

      • HoN started off an imitation of DotA 1, long before DotA 2 was released, but over the past 12 months they’ve released many unique and original heroes and added unique items to the games, a majority of heroes from DotA have had tweaks and you’d struggle to find a hero that is exactly the same as it were in DotA, not to mention the map has had tweaks made.

Similar? Sure. Exact rip off? No chance. You’d know that if you actually spent any time playing HoN in the last 6 months. But considering you’ve jumped on the name calling, let’s settle this like children; I’ll 1v1 you in both DotA 2 and HoN (if you even have it installed, but you seem to know a lot about it). I feel comfortable because I play both games and know the differences, you should have no problem though because HoN is exactly the same as DotA right?

  • Global Agenda during its peak, is in my top 3 games of all time. The balanced fast paced exhilarating combat it gave was quite an achievement. I had completely forgot about Smite so thank you! I will check it out. All my friends at the moment are trying to get me to play Dota2 but I just cant handle the learning curve and don’t have the time to invest in the thousand hours it takes to get just okay at.

  • skill shots + ranged auto attacks with 280 – 400 ping is a very bad experience for people trying to get into the game. sure you can get used to it, but it’s still a horrible.

  • I would play this game, but I’m not touching it unless it gets Aussie servers. Tribes had Australian servers, why can’t Smite.
