I’m sure Geordi La Forge would be pleased as punch to see the visor he used to overcome his handicap reduced to a fashion accessory for a backwater virtual world. Oh, I guess he wouldn’t.
Unless of course these Star Trek: The Next Generation costumes, crafted by Flashman Studios as part of an initial wave of a PlayStation Home Trek invasion, take place prior to Geordi getting his cybernetic implants. That’s not the case though, because these…
…look to be the original one-piece jumpsuits, retired long before Geordi got his groove back.
The Borg outfits aren’t so bad, though the female version is an obvious homage to the Borg Queen, who didn’t appear until the film First Contact, at which point those Federation jumpsuits had been phased out completely.
If you watch the trailer closely, you’ll notice another glaring error — a Borg named “Me.” The Borg are a collective, duh. It should be “We.”
I leave any Klingon issues to the Klingons. It’s for the best.
*sigh*
These are actually all rather nice, all good things considered. I even dig the “we couldn’t use the original music” theme in the trailer — it’s still a long road from the horrible Enterprise opening tune.
These costumes will be available for purchase in PlayStation Home, with more generations to come in the far future.

people use Playstation Home?
Every now and then when I wonder why this still exists on the XMB along with ps store that’s under game and that stupid singstar
Holy crap yes what the hell is going on Sony? I DO NOT have Singstar why is it so
prominent as though it were my favorite game?
Sony stop cluttering the interface with ads, I will visit your store as soon as you bring back a
usable interface without massive load times.
Haven’t used Home since it was released, why play Home when I could game instead.
It’s not an ad per se…Singstar became F2P so was installed in a firmware update. You have the base game and can buy songs the way you can buy Rock Band tracks.
Why play Home? Why play Second Life? There’s an audience. How big, I don’t know.
Saying all of that, yes, I would dearly love to clear up my XMB and free a bit of disk space by getting rid of those two apps…
Honestly without being anal or sounding snarky (I own a ps3, I LOVE my ps3) but I haven’t used HOME in like, 4 or 5 years at least? I seriously thought they had discontinued it for some reason???
Surprisingly last time I went on it was packed out. Still mostly people acting like gangstas and mobbing people in their “Families”. I lasted 5 mins and logged out
Another Home article, another person who doesn’t use it pondering its existence.
Not to say I find it particularly interesting myself, but if you log on during the weekend you’ll see a lot of people still use it.
dat klingon cleavage (klieavage)
Last time I was in it for E3 – and there’s still plenty there – but in all honesty its a glorified shopping mall. The new Pottermore area is really cool, but I hate that it’s tied to Home.
Not all Borg are part of the collective which leads to the need for a 7 of 9 costume (she’s still slightly Borg) and Hugh (who was also conveniently forgotten by the time of the 2nd Next Gen film).
