The Daily HaiTaku

Congratulations to Fled who totally managed to guess Germinal Consequence's Haiku. It was Mega Man 3. Well done to thehasbrogamer who came in just over 15 mins later with the same answer.

Today's Haiku comes from Shane. I've waited a long time for this moment.

Footprints in the snow The fox and the dinosaur No, it’s not The Dig

This might be my favourite Haiku so far!

This is HaiTaku. We write Haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we're talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

All I got is Starfox Adventures, but that seems too obvious, right?

    I think I've got this,
Shane can't throw me off the scent
    I guess it's The Dig!

    Star Fox Adventures!

Oooo! Was there snow? I dont remember...

yup, the second level was a snow level. dayum fled, you beat me to it. i came here to say this.

    Super smash brothers?

Super Smash Bros. Melee is my guess - it has a snow level.

That, or Super Smash Bros. Brawl (which also has a snow level)

    Metal Gear Solid?

I was thinking that too. What about MGS IV

Not sure, to be honest, I haven't gotten around to playing any of them since the first one.

HOT DOG, WE HAVE A WEINER!!

      Yep, it's this.

"Footprints in the snow" is from early in the game, where you can be tracked by soldiers if you walk in the snow.

"The fox and the dinosaur" was, in my mind, referring to Gray Fox vs Metal Gear Rex, but FOXHOUND is an equally valid interpretation. Also, dinosaur might refer to the obsolescence that both Snakes feel in the post-Cold War era.

"No, it's not The Dig" was a direct reference to the fact that this haiku was not, at least until this line, referring to The Dig.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games?

Crap, im late. Biker Mice from Mars!

    Starfox Adventures

Dammit, I was gonna say MGS4.

Yeah, its Metal Gear Solid for sure.

    Footprints in the Snow
"Whose footprints're these?" -arctic soldier examining foreign footprints in the snow (its an old meme or something)

Fox and the Dinosaur, (FOXHOUND and REX)
