Xbox One Kinect Can Be Used For Motion Capture In Your Living Room

Project Spark, the games-creation toolkit for Xbox One and PC, drew a lot of attention at E3 for a deep feature set. That includes all kinds of motion capture, using the Kinect 2.0 sensor. You can mo-cap in your own living room.

Team Dakota, Project Spark's makers, told a Gamescom audience today that full-body motion capture, facial motion capture, and audio capture with some editing and modulation options, will all be available when Project Spark's beta begins at the end of October for Windows 8 and in January for Xbox One.

The trailer above shows some of the things Project Spark has been used to create so far.

Windows 8? Guuuuuuuuuuh, what a kick in teeth. When I saw this game I was annoyed since I won't get an Xbox One. Then I see it's coming to PC?! YAY!! Then read it's windows 8.............back to grumbling I guess

I'm really tired so I probably misread something but as I understand this, Xbone Kinect will work on pc in some form. Seeing it say Windows 8 kinda depressed me though.

Would there be a way to integrate this into something like source-filmmaker?

MS announced a separate PC Kinect kit a while back, don't think they plan on having an adaptor for the Xbox One one...

Don't let the Windows 8 requirement get you down, with the 8.1 patch around the corner MS are about to make Windows 8 a much more user friendly experience... Not to mention the fact it's already a much more powerful OS than Windows 7 (less resource hungry and some really great features like native ISO mounting)
