It sounds stupid on paper, but the PS Vita TV is one of the most interesting, and for my life situation appealing pieces of gaming tech to come along in a long time. So naturally, it might only be released in Asia. Sadness.
In an interview with regional gadget site Tech-On, Sony’s Andrew House said that the company is only currently going to sell the Vita TV in Asian markets like Japan, China and South Korea, with no plans to offer it in the US or Europe “at this point”.
Which seems slightly crazy. The first thing a lot of people in the West were saying once they got their head around the unit was that it was like Apple TV, only better, because games. If Sony don’t end up selling it over here, that’ll be a damn shame.

Basically the same as Google not releasing some products out of the US. Australasia right?
Actually Sony made a statement after this that said “Japan first, stay tuned”.
It’ll release West once the PS4 launches in Japan.
It’s cheap and people want it.
yeah they probably want to stagger the momentum a bit rather than HERE IS EVERYTHING and we are spent.
That and PS4 launches in Japan next year so we in the West need to wait for something I guess after we get PS4 this year.
I would not be surprised if the delay for Japan was because they’re putting together bundles for simultaneous release. It seems that good.
It’ll make it here. I’m pretty pumped for it. Time to put my vita to more use.
I imagine it’s because it also has streaming services (such as Hulu and Netflix) which involve contracts and licenses that need negotiating before it’s released in a country.
