The congestion issues of launch now a thing of the past and apologies accepted, we’ve got all the time in the world to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Sounds like the perfect time for a live stream to me. Update: Hey now, hey now — the stream is over.
Not only does server congestion keep folks from playing, it makes the time they do eke out to play serious business, with no time to explore, or joke around, or do stupid things like this:
I was in that thing for a half-hour on Saturday afternoon. Eventually I hit level 15 as a Marauder and swapped back to Lancer, where I kicked all kinds of arse from level 17 to 26. I took on Ifrit and managed to be the only one in my party who survived the fight, which was nice.
Awkward.
And now I am here, streaming the game live for an hour or so, to celebrate the sheer joy of being able to play. Come join me, won’t you?

being able to login last night on my first try was amazing, played for 3 hours, caught some fish, cooked some fish, killed everything from my stage 2 hunting log… followed some random lalafel knight around for ages because he looked cool.
Man im loving this so far, havent been this excited about an MMO since AION.
Its great to see just how MASSIVE a change they made to the entire game, its pretty much a whole new game set in the same world.
I don’t know if I’m angrier that this line was used, or that I think I know the song it’s referencing.
The crowded house song don’t dream it’s over?
You fool, you’ve spoken their name! Now they will come for your dreams. Or at very least, loop in your head for a while.
My head has round the twist playing nothing will Impregnate this fortress
