Here’s a silly GIF about trying to read too much into Valve’s three announcements this week — it’s what happens when you overlay the 3 images on Steam Universe countdown page, according to yathern.
And another take, by tacothecat:
Note that neither of these GIFs loop for some reason!

Slow news day Patricia?
Slow snark day, velocita?
Slow thingy day, you?….nailed it.
Slow uh… Poke day, Dad! Why’d you have to leave! Oh god I’m so alone!
Kotaku AU really has to stop posting crap from the US editors. I saw this yesterday on reddit and it wasn’t interesting then either.
I’m not sure how reposting things from reddit counts a journalism, especially when it’s completely uninteresting irrelevant dribble.
I hope we don’t start getting meme reposts on here. (i know there have been some but for now it’s been a rare occurrence).
I’m surprised the countdown timer didn’t break with 33 hours 33 minutes and 33 seconds to go.
The countdown ends at 3AM for us. It’s clearly Half Life 3 being announced as an Australia (And Eastern Coast at that) only game
Is this our reward for the years of paying the Aussie Gaming Tax ^_^
Mind you I don’t think Valve has ever hit us with that. Though they do get a cut from those publishers that do like to charge an extra $30USD on Steam to us Aussies.
“Shakes fist at Deep Silver & Bethesda”
Edit:
Come to think of it, Dead Island: Riptide is $39.99USD on the US Steam and is $69.99USD on AU Steam, thats $30.00USD and there are 3 circles on the steampowered.com/livingroom page. So take away the 0.00 and that just leaves you with 3… Half-Life 3 Confirmed!
Publishers decide localised prices, not Valve.
IIRC, Valve prices it’s games evenly across countries. Good Guy Valve.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I know Valve doesn’t control the pricing on Steam. The two biggest offenders are the ones I stated before. I have nothing but happy thoughts for Valve 🙂
should have stoppeda fter the dog
im guessing the 3rd valve announcement will be about a controller or something. they could’ve really gotten this all out of the way in one announcement. man, valve have become a bunch of boring people haven’t they.
I’m wishfully hoping it will be Half Life 3. Call me paranoid, but a number of Steam produced games have updated a lot over the last two days. Way more than usual, so I wouldn’t be surprised a content tie in for HL3 popped up.
But like I said I’m probably being paranoid.
