The Big Question can often be tricky because sometimes we end comparing the proverbial apples and oranges. Choosing between Destiny or Titanfall is probably one of those situations, but let’s talk about what they have in common…
– They are both big budget shooters.
– They are both new IPs by proven developers whose last franchise was a roaring success.
– They both innovate within their genre.
– They are both next gen video games.
– They are being published by one of the ‘big two’, Activision and EA.
– They both look fantastic.
– Titanfall won game of E3, Destiny won game of Gamescom.
I guess the point I’m trying to make here is that these games, regardless of how different they are mechanically, are ‘destined’ to collide. Many will choose one over the other. Which do you like the look of more so far?

Destiny.
Titanfall is only competitive multiplayer, no proper single-player.
You took the words right out of my keyboard.
Yep… this.
Which is precisely why I want Titanfall.
EDIT: To elaborate, as I get older, I find my only interest in FPS games are for shooting. The pinnacle of that being shooting other people. I have trouble being engaged in the story of most FPS games, and instead look to my RPGs to scratch that itch.
Boooo hissss
And to upset people even more, I’ve never even finished the single player on GTAIV or BF3 and have no plans to finish GTAV’s story either! Yet all these games have (or will have) disgusting quantities of time spent in multiplayer.
BOOOOO HISSSSS!
BOOOO UURRRNS.
Are you saying BOO or BOO UURRRNS?
IFor the last 3 CODS, I skipped the single player modes.
I have done the same for all battlefields.
FPS stories are usually tripe anyway.
So +1
Wait a minute. BF3 has a single player?? never played it.
Couldn’t agree more.
Destiny would have to do something pretty amazing to get me really interested in another story-heavy shooter.
Hang on now is that a bad thing?

Why not both? Because Titanfall is Microsoft-exclusive 🙁
To get both one must purchase the Console That Shouldn’t Have Been Named. One does not simply purchase that product.
Titanfall is on PC. Get Destiny on PS3/4. Problem solved.
Or get Destiny on PC as well once the Sony ‘unprecedented partnership’ expires.
Actually Destiny is only on consoles, and that is nothing to do with either Sony or Microsoft. A PC version is possible but not announced yet.
Sony has secured a content exclusive partnership with Bungie, that is all.
Awkward moment when someone tries to make someone or something look stupid, and only succeed in making themselves look stupid.
“Awkward moment when someone tries to make someone or something look stupid, and only succeed in making themselves look stupid.”
Pretty sure that happens every time someone tries to make someone else look stupid. Like you just then.
If I had to pick one, it’d probably be Titanfall, just based on the fact that COD4 is one of my favourite games ever (shame about every COD since, that, though).
But to be honest, these days my multiplayer shooter of choice is Battlefield, and neither of these games are likely to dislodge that. I’ll buy the likes of Killzone and Far Cry for the single player campaigns, but just don’t really have the time required to play any other multiplayer shooters.
That really is not a good comparison.
COD4 was the best COD ever made so far. The multiplayer was far better than any of the others. MW3 was the last game that the Respawn guys worked on before leaving IW, and MW3 was another step AWAY from the glory days of COD4.
Titanfall, while it looks fun, looks to be even more crazier than what COD Ghosts looks like, and it is that crazy aspect that ruined the COD multiplayer.
Both? >_> Titanfall is coming out on PC as well, and I intend on getting a PS4 so the winner is me!
Destiny
Despite COD’s runaway success… it lacked one thing… Depth… It was about as interesting as spending a day with wet socks.
I’m very interested to see Destiny’s epic single player, with the always amazing score by Bungie.
Why not both?
Also destiny hasn’t been announced for PC as far as I know so that instantly drops it into the pits of hell until they rectify the situation. Being Bungie… I’m not holding my breath.
Destiny keeps reminding me of Too Human for some reason. Titanfall hasn’t really grabbed me at all. My friends are keen for Destiny so I’ll end up going for it just for the co-op experience.
Destiny. I’ve always preferred Halo to Call of duty, so based on their respective backgrounds, I have to pick Destiny. It’ll probably be prettier with better music and the multiplayer will be more well-rounded. I can expect the story mode to be pretty good.
Titalfall looks excellent and I love me some mech action, but it’s multiplayer only. The gameplay will probably be tighter and well balanced, but something I will only enjoy in short bursts.
Well, they’re both FPS, so I guess whichever has the strong PC community 6 months down the track will be what interests me.
Well at this moment, that would be Titanfall, since it’s the only one confirmed to be coming to the PC.
Rumours and speculation indicate Bungie MIGHT bring Destiny to PC, but it would likely be a year or two after the console release.
Never planned on getting either of them until now. If I do get one (or both), I’ll just get it on PC.
Titanfall probably more than Destiny at this point.
Killzone, oh… destiny then.
Neither. Both honestly don’t appeal to me at all.
I’m with you. I’m sure they’ll be standard games. Like Homefront, not Spec Ops: The Line

Yeah, sure, they will both be standard games…….. Are you a nintendo fan or something?
I’ll get both – Titanfall is my call of duty replacement (which I haven’t played in many years due to staleness) and Destiny is going to be more MMO like – so more story driven.
Titanfall doesn’t appeal to me but I wont be getting a new console any time soon so Destiny isn’t an option for me either.
If it comes to PC then I absolutely will get Destiny.
Destiny for me, since I’m going with the PS4 (at least to start with).
Plus I much prefer co-op online over competitive online.
I love RPGs so it’s destiny for me. Although I did spend an unseasonably large amount of time on Black Ops and Halo multiplayer, so I do enjoy PvP shooters as well.
Still Destiny though but I’ll pick up an X1 controller and titanfall for PC after PS4 and Destiny.
I reject these answers; instead, I choose something different. I choose the impossible. I choose… wait are Bioshock references still cool?
To answer your question… Very yes
Yes.
Titanfall looks better the more I see – but I got burned by Brink trying to do a similar thing. So unsure about that.
As for Destiny – I loved all the previews until they showed gameplay. For me it looks like an MMO with emphasis on faster gameplay. I don’t want anymore fetch quests.
In effect I’ll be waiting until right before release before making any decisions.
Destiny… love me some cool co-op.
Destinnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyy……the adventuring with kindred spirits sounds fun.
i’ll get both.
but destiny seems like a game that is made for gamers who like to spend hours and hours exploring the world. i love that, but i also just can’t spend that much time playing games. yet i still want to play the game because it does look amazing.
Unsure. Both are Sci-Fi shooters which I love but I feel apathetic about both of these, didn’t really hook me enough. I guess I’m least apathetic for Titanfall.
(Note: Bungie fanboy here, rather bias)
Definitely Destiny!
Borderlands+Halo love baby, with the usual in depth universe Bungie is known for. This idea interests me greatly due to the feeling that I can get lost in this game, the sense of mystery that the first Halo had +great music by Marty O’Donnel.
Titanfall on the other hand seems promising, might pick it up on the PC later on after release, but I much prefer co-op over competitive.
Why not both, Titan fall PC and destiny on ps4 for a win win situation I can’t wait to get my hands on gundams, wall jumping and space magic, the mmo that isn’t
Easy. I am keen for, and plan to get, both. It’s win-win.
That said, still more excited for Dark Souls 2.
Destiny. I’m getting a PS4 so that rules out Titanfall for me.
Destiny on the xbone because reasons and I like looty shooters
Going by the game journo’s responses on the various podcasts I’ve listen to (Giant Bomb, Weekend Confirmed, Super joystiq Podcast, and a couple of others) , there appears to be more excitement for Titanfall over Destiny.
I actually can’t recall any hands-on discussion about Destiny. That’s not to say there wasn’t any, I just can’t remember hearing any.
The true PS4 v One question for me is.. Destiny vs Halo 5?
Titanfall because it is coming out on PC. I havent decided if I am buying a next gen console or not yet.
Destiny cos ps4
So theI choice is either Borderlands by Bungie or a more refined version of Section 8 that people will actually play this time because COD.
Damn I loved section 8. Best few dollars spent ever
Would much rather Titanfall. That free-running and combat on differant levels really looks like a mixture of Shadowrun(Teleporting, Gliding) and Quake(general pants-soiling speed). Plus it’s made by COD vets, and like someone said before, COD 4 is probably my favourite fps ever. I do love Halo but never got into Borderlands which Destiny is reeking of. However, as I’m getting a PS4 I guess the choice is obvious.
Destiny.
Well i will probably get Titanfall on PC, so whichever comes out first XD. I will be getting both though.
I am 10x more hyped for Destiny than Titanfall though.
Both over hyped and bad that’s why you can’t choose which one to get
