The Daily HaiTaku

This is pretty cool. Yesterday's Haiku was super tough, so Zar, who wrote it, was kind enough to drop some clues in the comments. So, instead of giving you the answer to yesterday's Haiku, I'm going to direct you to this comment. Give it another go!

But we're still dropping a new Haiku today and it comes from Geregh. Good luck everyone!

An emperor evil. Eight ancient orbs magical. Can you save your love?

This is HaiTaku. We write Haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we're talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

At first made me think Ghouls 'n' Ghosts. But I don't remember anything about orbs. Or there being eight of them.

    Hmm.... magical orbs...
    An empra evil, too, huh?
    It must be The Dig!

    Dragonball Z

It sounds like a JRPG of some description. The 8 orbs could be referring to some kind of elemental connection (classic JRPG's always loved a visit to the Ice Temple, Fire Temple, Earth Temple etc to rescue the Guardian spirits), and they loved their evil emperors.

I'm tempted to guess Seiken Densetsu 3, since at least one of the main 3 story arcs had a character going after a loved one and an evil emperor, but you collected 8 seeds in that, not orbs, so that's probably not it.

It definitely sounds like an old JRPG, I just don't know which one.

    Secret of Mana.
    8 Elemental Orbs
The female character is trying to save her love (dyluk) from the Empire

Hmm on further fond memories, it was seeds in the temples not orbs...
But there were weapon orbs and those elemental orb dealies, so my answer still stands
