I thought you guys and girls would have guessed yesterday’s easily, but it must have been more cryptic than I thought. But krylonb did get it! So congrats to him!
Today’s Haiku comes from Decoy. Hint: it’s totally Biker Mice From Mars.
A spring frog is dead
Darkening music sings
The item through the window
This is HaiTaku. We write Haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

Biker Mice from Mars! (yay not late today!)
Two of my submissions on a Friday in a row? Im flattered Mark!
In the ponds cool depths; the happy frog plays in spring; his life, a slow game
Kinda stumped but I’m going to say Chrono Trigger.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?
I remember killing frogs (and eating them), and also peeking in at items in windows and working out how to sneak in there to get them.
Also I think it was dark at some point and there was music…?
Another Friday
Pissing time against the wall
At least it’s The Dig.
Battletoads
A Spring frog is dead – Obviously the fact that you are a frog and you will die… a lot
Darkening music sings – The game over screen, because you will eventually see it and the music is dark and ominous
The item through the window – the game cartridge, when you get fed up enough to eject it through the nearest opening in your house, likely a window
This really should be the right answer.
But I think the real answer is Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Is it Bully?
Its Kermit goes postal
I’m going left field here and thinking it’s possibly something attached to Peter Molyneux post Bullfrog days, possibly Microsoft (windows) days, and therefore possibly:
Fable.
The Darkening Music sings throws me off though. Which could otherwise suggest Braid, based off the soundtrack. But I think I’m grasping at straws with both of these answers and should probably go a bit more literal.
…Spacefrog?
Syndicate?
Spring frog is dead = Original creator was Bullfrog who are now owned by EA & essentially dead (at least dead inside)
Darkening Music Sings = Well the soundtrack for that game was entirely dark in nature
The item through the window = When the player suffers a defeat, the cut scene shows a man throwing a lamp through a holographic display or screen?
similar thought pattern to mine, and I think you’re likely right. Although I don’t remember the lamp through the display scene.
one of the Sam and Max games?
