Assassin's Creed IV Has More Trailers Than Any Game Ever Made. Here's One More...

Has there ever been a title in the history of video games with more teaser trailers and dev diaries than Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag? I reckon it must be up there. Anyway, the trailers are almost over. The time for the actual game is about to begin. This is the launch trailer for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.

It's taken a while for me to warm to the idea of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Maybe it was my disappointment with Assassin's Creed III. Maybe it's the fact this is being released in such close proximity to the last 'numbered' sequel. Maybe I worried it was an attempt to cash in on the popularity of pirates, with Johnny Depp vehicles and whatnot.

I dunno, but I never really felt like I could properly invest in this game and get excited about it.

But I'm warming to it. It is a bit of departure from previous Assassin's Creed games, which is what we've been asking for. It also makes good use of the technology developed in previous entries. But what interests me more is the period of history the game is set in. The golden age of piracy is a genuinely interesting cross section of history with a host of memorable characters. I can't wait to meet these people in game and see how they are represented. Slowly getting excited for this...

I feel the same as you Mark,
Assassin's Creed III really disappointed me, I preordered this as a last ditch effort to keep me in the Assassin's Creed series, ACII has been my favourite so far, but I hope ACIV can pull me back in.

I don't expect it to end up a better overall game than any other AC at this point, I'm just looking forward to it because there's not really anything else that interests me this year.

They can't top AC2, no point in having expectations that high. Might as well just take it for what it is and enjoy it without the critical eye that everyone had for AC3.

i've done a complete 180 on this, can't wait for it now - mainly for the setting / environment - that being said i still can't shake the nagging feeling that the combat will be the same as ever. 10 dudes just milling about in a circle, attacking 1 at a time until they're all gone - i haven't seen any dev videos addressing that yet

Yeah but atleast the ship combat should help with that. They dont sail about waiting to attack in turn.

In before the trailers and developer diaries were more enjoyable than playing the game yourself.

I cant wait for this, I have loved all of the AC Games, even ACIII.

Iv not been disappointed with any of them really, I take them as they are and like them for what they have. I have the black chest edition coming my way.. hope it gets here soooon :D
