It was your home, once. You built it up, and made a lot of friends there. Then you set off on another adventure; on a quest to become the very best, like no one ever was. You left one home for another.
But your Animal Crossing town is still there, sitting on your 3DS, awaiting your return. Lark perfectly imagines the bittersweet feelings of a game left behind, as Isabelle quietly laments her mayor’s departure for greener, newer pastures. (Side note: Check out Lark’s whole Tumblr for more cool stuff.)
With Phoenix Wright and Zelda games on the horizon, it seems a lot of Animal Crossing towns are going to continue go unattended for a good long while.
Aw, Isabelle. We’ll always have the bug-off.

I’m not a huge fan of the game myself, but this is really nice. Kudos.
I already felt bad, now I feel terrible. Thanks a lot Kotaku.
I swear I will be back! Mayors take holidays all the time, right?
I know that feel bro.
Something similar was posted on the pokemon subreddit a while ago..

Like I wasn’t feeling guilty about ditching my town already… *sniff*
That’s like when I log into Nintendogs (about once every six months), only to realize my dog’s been waiting there forever, slowly getting dirtier. I feel like such a horrible, despicable person. x_X
Oooh….*glances at DS game case*
I don’t think I want to boot my copy up.
EXCUSE ME I HAVE SOMETHING IN MY EYE.

Basically missing AC:NL Halloween festivities because of the Pokémon X & Y release.
Nintendo games, man. Full of childhood wonder and shit.
