I Am In Love With This Game’s Colourful, Vivid Backgrounds

I admit, I am one of those who is constantly annoyed that, constrained only by the limits of our imagination, we continually produce “realistic” looking games that have a colour palette dominated by browns, greys and blacks. So I am ecstatic whenever a game like Arcadias no Ikusahime comes along.

The backgrounds are beautifully rendered and full of strikingly bright, vivid colours. There are forests, jungles, fields, deserts, icy mountains, volcanoes, castles and many other visually diverse locales.

Now while I could give or take the actual character designs, they nonetheless look great whether in action against monsters or just standing around in conversations. As for the monsters, the same general enemy designs crop up again and again; yet they all look great in the game’s numerous environments — and the bosses are always an amazing sight to behold.
