Last week, the guys at BLR (with help from some WETA artists) released one of the most incredible pieces of sci-fi animation this planet has ever seen. Keloid. Let’s bask in the afterglow, then, with some art from the guys who designed the killer robots.
While some of the design was handled in-house, two WETA artists – Aaron Beck and Greg Broadmore – worked on the short as well, which explains why there’s a common thread running through the robot design on District 9, Elysium Keloid.
We saw some of Beck’s work only recently, with his robots done for Elysium, and it’s not long ago we also featured Broadmore for his…music. Most images below are by Beck (check the signatures), but there’s some of Greg’s work as well.

These things in motion… goddamn. Dat design.
I had a feeling WETA Works had a hand in this. Their designs are always different and unique to the usual stuff we see out of Hollywood, especially with robotics. Good work to the BLR guys too. I would pay to see this
