Is the avatar person a guy or a girl? Are they wearing lipstick? they look quite effeminate.
Also side boob
I can understand dressing up in costume and roleplaying at a party or event.
Cosplay on the other hand seems to come from a weirder and darker mindset, either in a geeky-obsessive way or a publicly-kinky-fetish way.
Many of the costumes are blatantly sexual, sometimes even when the character is a child. In a “mainstream friendly” fashion which reminds me of pin-ups, I.E. jerk off material for those who for some reason don’t just look at porn (that’s a whole ‘nother subject though).
Get. Out.
Not being a cosplayer, I can only assume, but I’m not sure it’s much different from the ‘dressing up for a party’, except the audience is wider and more niche.
The fun of dressing up would still be there, and to get compliments on a well designed outfit would simply add to the experience.
I’m sure any cosplayers will be able to illuminate both of us with their experiences.
As for being psuedo-porn ? Shower is that way. Make it cold.
I watched a episode of Heros of cosplay a a mates house and it turns out that most of them are doing it to get into prop\costume making.. The overtly sexual side of the costumes comes from the games them selves.
That being said there are defiantly some girls that are dead set on attention seeking and are in it for no other reason..
