Reggie Hijacks Nintendo Twitter, Says He's Coming To Your Town

Nintendo of America's Twitter account, normally home to perfectly sane product announcements, got a little weird this evening when President Reggie Fils-Aime took over. Our bodies weren't ready.

Why did I get into the video game industry? I started with a SNES. When the recruiter called, my house was full of consoles. #Regginator — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

Who is on my Pokemon team? My partner Pokemon is Fennekin. #Regginator — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

Why don't I have a Twitter account? You're lookin' at it. Thanks for following. #Regginator — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

And just to be sure:

Yes, it's really me! #Regginator #selfie Follow our TweetUp at #ImWithReggie [PIC] pic.twitter.com/2bsKvVUFP8 — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

There was even room for gloating. Like, how we was playing Animal Crossing two months before everyone else.

What Nintendo #3DS game do I play the most? #ACNL - 300 hours as of right now. How about you? [PIC] pic.twitter.com/4TCX48pgq7 — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

The whole thing seems to have been in aid of Reggie's national tour, where he will come to your town, take your name and kick your arse at something.

I'm off to the #ImWithReggie TweetUp! Follow here and FB to see when I'll be in YOUR city looking to play #WiiU + #3DS with YOU! #Regginator — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 25, 2013

I like Reggie. I think he's taken the whole internet celebrity thing really well.

The fact that I like him means that he's fantastic at his job.

He could say some of the dumbest things imaginable and my inner-monologue would still be saying "adorable".

Reggie is exactly what companies need as their public face. He's funny and charming. He's not scared of getting out there and getting exposure. He actually knows and loves the product.
