Yesterday, Ubisoft detailed the downloadable add-ons coming Assassin’s Creed IV, among which is a cool-sounding standalone adventure that casts the player as an escaped slave. Unfortunately for Nintendo fans, today Ubisoft confirmed to Kotaku that the Wii U version of the game won’t get that add-on, or any other AC IV DLC. [via Gamereactor]

Probably because no one bought the DLC for AC3. I didn’t because it sounded pretty shit.
Bummer. If the game turns out OK, that was the version I was planning to get. But I won’t now if it’s going to be the inferior version. I have a suspicion it’s because the Wii U store doesn’t support season passes, given that is the preferred way of selling modern DLC.
I’m sure their mindset is “Nobody buys it on Wii U, so there’s no point releasing anything else on the future on it” – no, nobody buys less capable or majorly late versions on Wii U when they have a choice of platforms. I bought Rayman Legends on Wii U because it was superior. That’s probably the only multiplatform game I’ve seen that I can say this about 🙁
What about the additional digital content in the collector’s edition?
My WiiU preorder includes additional missions, are they even going to be available or is there a price cut coming?
