Kotaku Awards 2013: Nominate Your Most Anticipated Games Of 2014

Yeah, this award doesn't really make sense. It's a bit stupid, but sometimes doing stupid things can be fun. I think this is one of those times.

End of year awards are usually about looking back at the year that was. I want to shake things up a bit. I want you to nominate the games you are most looking forward to in 2014. Come on! Just do it! We'll chuck up all the nominations in a vote for next week and then announce the winners the week after that.

Okay... here are some of my nominations.

Destiny Trials Fusion The Witness Titanfall

Yeah those games look pretty good.

    Titanfall (on PC).
    End.

    Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros.

    Fin.

      You forgot DK!

        I've played it at E3, It's not on the list for a reason.

          D:

          Has it changed from DKCR for the worse or something?

      I call Diddy!

        I call nobody!

        I'll just message them instead.

          Diddy's monkey screeches can't be replicated in text form!

    Destiny
    Dragon Age: Inquisition

      Dragon Age has a interesting timing window, I reckon if they release it before the new gen drought ends a lot of people will probably drop their prejudices for Dragon Age 2 and consider the franchise again.

      Regardless I'm looking forward to it.

        Just seeing the beauty of the new engine, diverse locations and colourful surrounds released so far makes me think BioWare are looking to redeem themselves. I think it's going to be excellent. (Then again, fanboys gonna fan. :D)

          Playable Qunari. Even if the game sucks, they've won me over with that.

            They had me at Claudia Black.

    Murdered: Soul Suspect
    Anna's Quest
    Dragon Age: Inquisition
    Uncharted (Here's hoping it ain't too far away.)
    inFamous: Second Son
    Dreamfall Chapters
    Asylum
    Broken Age

    Too many. A good time for gaming.

      is Anna's quest due next year? ooh

        Uh, I think? Maybe? Probably? @sughly?

          can I pre order a super deluxe collectors edition signed by the creator yet
          @sughly O_O

            Just give me the money. I'll make sure he gets it. *shifty eyes*

              sure thing *reaches for wallet* ...................... wait a minute

                Damn it! Was so close to getting some of that sweet, sweet adventure game money!

    * Final Fantasy 13: Lightning Returns
    * Watch Dogs
    * FF10/12 HD
    * Dragon Age: Inquisition
    * Murdered: Soul Suspect
    * Dark Souls II

      Lightning Returns? Really? I guess you haven't heard about what happens in the ending then.

        Nope, don't want to know either until I've played it :)

          Ah man, you're gonna be so disappointed. It's been described as the final nail in the Final Fantasy coffin, and after reading up on it I have to agree.

            Ooh. Now I'm considering doing just that. I quite liked both FF13 and FF13-2 (more than the average player, anyway, both were flawed though obviously) but the way Square left the story so unfinished and squirrelled so much story into DLC annoyed me- finally turned me off Square when I'd been one of its most loyal customers for years. I refused to buy the DLC and I was very much on the fence about actually buying Lightning Returns.

    Transistor

      Ooooh, yeah. Just for the OST alone. Bastion still plays regularly on rotation.

        Absolutely! Game soundtracks are the best, a lot of effort goes into them.

    Xenoblade, Smash Bros U, Mario Kart 8, Titanfall, Destiny, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Metal Gear Solid V.

      oh and Kirby 3DS, 2014 is going to be kind of amazing.

    Dark Souls 2, just hoping that the publisher doesn't fuck it up.

    and while I'm not that interested in Destiny, I would love to see Bungie curve stomping 343i.

    Wildstar

    I know I know, its another MMO, but this one looks to have some really good stuff lined up

    Transistor
    The Witness
    Witcher 3
    Dark Souls 2
    Tales of Symphonia Chronicles

    destiny for sure

    titanfall maybe on PC

    what happens? not wasting my money and another FFXIII lol

    There's no one game I'm looking forward to the most, so here's a list of my most wanted.
    Destiny
    Dark Souls II
    Thief
    South Park: The Stick Of Truth
    D4
    Watch Dogs
    Drive Club
    The Order: 1886
    Dying Light
    The Evil Within
    Trials Fusion and
    Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty

      Oh yeah, The Order! Really can't wait for that!

        Of all the upcoming PS4 games that's not based on an existing franchise, that one and Watch Dogs are the two that have me excited. Watch Dogs has all the hallmarks of a game that was overpromising and would underwhelm- but if they can pull it off will be game of the year. The Order looks a bit like The Secret World, a game I felt deserved more love as a single player/co-op RPG well worth 50 hours of playtime but didn't have the legs to be an MMORPG... I'm a sucker for that style of story, I guess.

    South Park i'm keen to try.

    I'm really hoping Blizz sorts out Diablo3 and makes the expansion worth my time. We got F'd in the A with D3 :(

      I'm sure you have but if you haven't tried Path of Exile, you should (its free to play so you have nothing to lose). More to the likes of D2 than D3 is.

    Star Citizen
    Fallout 4
    GTA 5 for PC
    Project Eternity
    Destiny for PC (lol)
    Maia
    Torment Tides of Numenera

    Infamous: Second Son
    Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
    Watch_Dogs
    Titanfall (only if my PC can handle it though, she's getting on a bit!)
