Yesterday you saw how Sony’s newest console stacks up to the competition but what about its little brother, the Vita TV?
According to my tape measure, this little guy is only 10.5cm x 6.5cm. Having problems imagining that? Well let’s compare it to some other video game objects.
The Vita TV is smaller than a Vita game case.
Almost as thin as one too!
It’s even dwarfed by its own controller.
Here’s how it stacks up to the competition.
And this is a nice little evolutionary tree. If only I had a PSP 3000 and a PSP Go…
Oh look! It’s big brother PS3 is giving it a piggyback ride.
The whole Vita TV unit is about the size of the original Vita’s screen.
The Wii U tablet’s screen could consume it.
And lastly, here it is next to classic RPG Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. But why is Lunar in this picture? The correct question is “why isn’t Lunar in every one of these pictures?” Think about that.
Well, now that my Vita TV has been un-boxed, it’s time for me to see how it works. Check back with Kotaku East tomorrow to see my first impressions of the system.
The PlayStation Vita TV was released in Japan on November 14, 2013. There is currently no word on a Western release.

I need this. I absolutely need to play P4G on my TV.
Sorry to disappoint but it’s not working with non-Asian PSN accounts and overseas versions of compatible games don’t work. Tried P4G and Lumines and they didn’t work. Although I guess these will be enabled when it comes out in the West.
I would wait till hopefully a western release anyway.
my guess is that when japan gets the PS4 the west will get the Vita TV
So much want!
All i need with it at launch is a patched version of Gravity Rush (to remove the touch controls so it will work on the Vita TV) and ill be a very happy camper. 🙂
I just want this to stream ps4 games.
