The Internet Reacts To Internet Explorer’s New Anime Mascot Girl

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer officially has an anime heroine called Inori Aizawa and people are already coming up with tons of fan art of her. This is the internet. There’s no such thing as turnaround time here.

So far we’ve found a lot of artistic interpretations and GIFs — usually the first wave after a shocking reveal like yesterday’s — but there’s already some cosplay, too.

Here’s some of what we’ve found already:

  • Wait.. so people will start drawing internet explorer naked??

Yo dawg, i heard you like porn, so i’ve made porn that you can search for porn on, so you can fap while you fap.

    PORNCEPTION

  • This is a rather good idea from Microsoft. I still hate IE, but even I considered downloading IE11. Not because I like anime girls (though I do), but because when you humanize a browser, you naturally make it more accessible. It stopped being a browser war and became a person vs. browsers

    • The firefox mascot doesn’t have nine tails. Microsoft are smart in embracing this phenomenon but japan has been creating personifications of software for years. See link for firefox http://ostan-collections.net/imeeji/thumbnails.php?album=34 The chans built up comic strips which led to generally accepted character traits, for example a lot of comics would revolve around me-tan who was windows ME’s character, she was ernest but totally inept. Windows 98 and 98 SE were twins etc.

      • Though unless I’m mistaken, the firefox-tan is based on the Kitsune mythical figure which granted, can have a varying number of tails but typically (or at least the most powerful of them) have nine tails.
