A Very Depressing Way To Introduce An Exciting Sequel

One of the greatest modern-day adventure games is getting a sequel in Silence: The Whispered World 2! What joyous fantasy landscapes and colourful characters will we be… oh. Oh dear me. This is not what I was expecting at all.

The colourful fantasy world we were introduced to in Daedalic Entertainment’s first The Whispered World is nowhere to be seen in this first trailer for the sequel, due out towards the end of 2014 on PC. Just children in danger and a heavy helping of sadness.

Here’s the game’s official description:

With completely new 3D visuals, The Whispered World 2 will take players back to Silence, a worldmade of dreams. We accompany Noah, a teenager, who lost his little sister Renie in the hazardous realworld and now hopes to find her again in Silence. His quest leads him to another visually impressive and emotional adventure, where players get to solve plenty of mysteries surrounding Noah, his sister and the dreamscapes of Silence.

Moody. Melancholy. I like it.
