Metal Band Avenged Sevenfold Is Making A Diablo Clone

What, you expected a pet sim?

Tapping into the band’s deep love for video games (like Diablo) and working in elements of their signature (Diablo-ish), Avenged Sevenfold has teamed with developer Subscience Studios to create a mobile dungeon crawler that hearkens back to the … Diablo. It’s called Hail to the King: Deathbat.

From the official announcement, here’s lead singer M. Shadows.

“We’ve been fans of games since we were kids, and we thought it would be fun to create one of our own inspired by our favourites. There are so many cool and innovative indie games being developed today, and we realised we could design and build the kind of game we’d love to play on our own. It is coming together amazingly well, and we can’t wait to share it.”

So the kind of game they’d love to play is Diablo. Millions of people out there agree with that. Not nearly as many think Deathbat is a good subtitle.

Hail to the King: DiabloBat will be coming soon to some sort of mobile gaming platform.
