The Daily HaiTaku

Congratulations to Braaains who took all of 60 seconds to guess yesterday's HaiTaku. The answer, of course, was Speedball 2.

Today's haiku comes from nexi. Remember you can all send in your own efforts to me and we'll put them on the site.

Dear Kin Forsaken Knife, Fork, A Land Laid Low The Darkness Cometh.

Good luck everyone!

This is HaiTaku. We write Haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we're talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

    Forsaken

    - Totally awesome guess, I know

I despised that game, but I confess to having played it through, was pretty good at the multiplayer too, for all you could actually see of what was going on.

Not right, but Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

The references to "kin" and "darkness" fit.

    Not a Haiku

    5-6-5

      Or to reply in haiku...

      That's not a haiku.
      Only six syllables here.
      Try again later.

        Such a Great Haiku
Nexi has done well with this
        Who cares with the six

          The only six that
          people care about right now:
          Watching the cricket.

bah, sorry, should read Knife, Fork, And a land laid low. botched it when I sent it in

All good, I didn't mean it to sound like a criticism :o)

All good champ, I sent it in to mark a while back and had to remember it off-hand.

Knives and Forks make me think of Morrowind. So much to steal, so little inventory space.

I was thinking of Morrowind too but I just can't figure out what the third line means.

Skirting around a similar-ish genre kind of, but not Morrowind (or any other elder scrolls)

seeing this makes me think fallout

check my easy mode clue down the bottom, you should have it in like 10 seconds

      Bye shane :(

      where have you been shane?

Well, lemme tell ya. Wherever a young mother was ignorant of what to feed her baby, I was there. Wherever nacho penetration was less than total, I was there. Wherever a Bavarian was not quite full, I was there too.

I'm a whisper in the wind, a drop of oil in a monsoon. I can only be seen out of the corner of your eye, and even then only if you're fast. I'm everywhere and nowhere. In the world, but not of the world. And sometimes the other way around.

you work in a restaurant, you are like some crazy good waiter who is always close at hand but outside of vision

I just read Fight Club, so all I can picture is Tyler Durden pissing into the soup

Note to self, do not go out to dinner with Shane!

                It's okay, I'm not a waiter :P

ok ok, "Server" we get it. ;) Good to have you back. Just letting you know i lit a candle for your safe return every day. And by candle i mean "Biker Mice from Mars"

Bout to head to work, nobody has it yet, B-ob however has the right era of games while Zar has the right genre. Hints could make this too easy so that's all I'm giving you

Using nexi's clue... is it Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean?

Based on line two alone, without having heard of any game by the name I'm about to guess, I say "Silver Valley".

Easy mode clue (and I don't care that it goes 6-7-5 :P)

    Yarr harr fiddle dee dee
If you like to sail the sea
    you are a princess

It better not be Wind Waker.

        Indeed it is
Dear Kin (Sister) Forsaken (fortress she gets taken to)
Knife (Master Sword) Fork (triumph forks), and a land laid low (Hyrule under the ocean)
The Darkness Cometh (either Gannon himself or the eternal night portion of the game, take your pick)
