Despite being an uber famous video game, nobody managed to guess yesterday’s haiku until some additional clues were given (the answer was The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker).
When a haiku fails to resonate, who is to blame? The poet, the audience, or the video game? And when a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? Well, yeah. Your eardrums don’t create forest sounds; air vibrations do. How conceited can you get?
But anyway. Here is today’s HaiTaku, courtesy of Zar:
Out before christmas
Parents are on Vacation
Evil space mammal.
Good luck everyone!
This is HaiTaku. We write Haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

Attack of the Mutant Camels
Please tell me that’s actually a thing!!!
Yeah, it was an old 8-bit shooter by Jeff Minter. I remember playing it on the C64. From what I recall, it was basically a rip off of the Atari 2600 Empire Strikes Back game, with the AT-ATs replaced by giant camels.
Haha that sound awf-some!!!
Yes, and the sequel was Revenge of The Mutant Camels. I had it on Atari ST.
The developers were called Llamasoft, funnily enough.
It is indeed: http://youtu.be/i_AVcGcQOSM
Pretty much exactly what @Braaains described
Planescape: Torment. Last line fits, and that’s all that is required, right?
How does the last line fit PST? You’re sure you’re not thinking of Boo the giant space hamster from Baldurs Gate?
Yes. Yes I am. Oops.
Kerbal Space Program
Earthbound

Home Alone is quite close, but it doesn’t exactly have any space mammals in it…
The tarantula would fit in a pinch.
Also, you just gave me an excuse to post this. Hurrah! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PDuqk_DSMw
I like how they managed to turn it into a music video. Home Alone is such a great movie!
A Side kicks own game.
Launching others to their fame.
Look Triceratops
That one suggests Yoshi’s island, but I don’t think that fits terribly well with the intial Haiku.
Is there a Triceratops in Yoshi’s Island?
Wrong side kick
Not a “Mario” sidekick at all
Diddy Kong Racing.
Under Moderation comment strikes again
Diddy Kong Racing! Gotta be!
Bingo
I was so close to getting this one after that second Haiku, but I think that I was a bit late to the game 🙁 Love Diddy Kong Racing, though; it was the first game I ever played!
If only I paid attention to game plots back when I was 5…
