That thing on the front of the Xbox One? That’s a sticker. You can take it off. Some of you right now are wondering why this needs to be said. Others of you, well, you’re not alone. A lot of people haven’t taken this sticker off their Xbox One for some reason.
Search for Xbox One on Instagram and you can see it yourself. Just in the last two hours, we’ve got these:
There are many, many more.
Why are so many people keeping this sticker on their console?
Theories:
1) They think the console looks a bit naked without it.
2) They think it’s cool to keep the stickers on. You know, like some people do with baseball hats. As seen here, for example, via The Sartorialist:
3) They don’t realise it’s a sticker.
Whatever the reason may be, it’s ok to remove it. Really. It’s not like one of those mattress tags. And, really, how many times can you read the same warning, no matter how many languages it’s in?
Just trying to be helpful.

Right?
Now I’m disappointed that my PS4 didn’t come with a similar sticker.
Because your PS4 wont chew a disc up at the slightest movement..
And neither does Xbox
No it just wont work.
Or the rubber will wear off your analogs
Or your HDMI cable won’t sit in properly.
Or the PSU will die.
But yeah, a grinding noise which still leaves the console USABLE is such a huge issue. Mind you, Microsoft is giving you a FREE GAME if you have that problem.
It is normal for people to keep stickers on hardware. I personally try not to remove them after it starts to wear off and when I peel it off I can feel my hardware brand new again lol. Like my laptop, it took me 2 years to finally peel off those Intel / Spec stickers next to the touch pad.
I’ve had my laptop going on 6 years, and I still haven’t peeled of the intel and ‘built for windows vista’ *shudder* stickers
Every day is a struggle for me, I feel the same way, but the Ultrabook sticker on my Acer S7-392 is on the piss (crooked).
Hard pressing news right here. I think this needs to be elevated to an international emergency
Mine doesn’t have a sticker. Suss…
Stevo said that Macko took his off and it bricked his system?
4) They just don’t give a hoot!
This would be me. Who cares, it’s just a sticker.
aka, the Australian response.
I just noticed my PC tower still has a sticker on it, I could remove it…..
Or they could have spent the 10 cents per drive instead so the disc wouldn’t die and save themselves the 10 cents extra it cost for the sticker on the front
I’m Just gonna leave it there, keep it in as much original condition as possible.
Because its such a limited edition console. Could be worth a few dollars in years to come…..
I haven’t taken mine off because I remember loaning my 360 to a friend, he accidentally knocked it over and it ruined the disk… So idk, maybe leaving it there will serve as an extra reminder for others about not putting it vertical….. That is if I were to lone it to anyone, which I probably wouldn’t these days; but still, better safe than sorry!
It’s also got a triangle with an exclamation mark in it. You don’t want to mess with those.
Maybe they scratched so many discs with the 360 that they feel they need to keep reminding themselves…
I honestly hadn’t even noticed it…
It’s a load balancing sticker
