Books are art, you know? Sometimes literally.
This paper-sculpture is the work of Danish artist Victoria, known on DeviantART as FarTooManyIdeas. She crafted it before the most recent Hobbit movie came out, “after watching the trailer many many times.”
I’ve heard of words that “jump off the page” before, but this is taking it to a whole other level…

I’m angry that they destroyed the book… but, damn if that doesn’t look neat.
That’s the point, so it looks like it came out of the book.
Work of art indeed!
Smaug blew my mind in the movie, the way they got something that big and fearful to talk and seem witty and self-obsessed without sounding ridiculous is phenomenal. I had no idea what to expect, but it wasn’t of that level
Is it just me, or does a book still ‘literally’ count as art even if it’s not turned into an amazing sculpture?
I want one.
Nooooooo,
Ruined a perfectly good copy of the hobbit
I don’t like how the book and the dragon pages are a different colour but apart from that this is sweet
It must be discolouring from the glue used for the papier mache. I agree, it ruins the illusion somewhat but it was obviously a necessity.
Love it!
