Major Glitch Makes Final Fantasy VI Unbeatable On Android

The Android version of Final Fantasy VI isn’t just ugly — it has a massive, game-breaking glitch too.

Warning: This post contains spoilers. Yes, this is a 20-year-old game, but hey, we’re trying to be nice.

The glitch occurs about halfway through the game, during the fight between Kefka and General Leo in Thamasa. Kefka is supposed to kill Leo, but instead he just kills the game.

Players on GameFAQs and NeoGAF reported the bug over the weekend, and Square Enix confirmed it in an update on the Google Play store, promising a fix soon:

The following bugs have been confirmed and fixes are forthcoming:

– The game no longer crashes during the cutscene showing the fight between Kefka and General Leo.

– The icon for Sabin’s Blitz ability now displays correctly.

– A misspelling of the term “Esper” has been corrected.

That sure is one way to prevent Leo’s death!
