The Super Bowl Ends With A Safety, Says Tecmo Super Bowl

The Super Bowl Ends With A Safety, Says Tecmo Super Bowl

Yesterday, Madden NFL 25 gave its prediction for Super Bowl Ex El Vee Eye Eye Eye, handing it to Denver, 31-28, on a field goal in overtime. Today, the guys keeping alive 1991’s Tecmo Super Bowl offered their own version of events: another OT game, with Denver winning on a goddamn safety.

You can see in the video above, a compressed look at activities in the Meadowlands this Sunday. Unlike Madden, the Tecmo Super Bowl gang do not predict snow, probably because weather options were not a part of football video games 24 years ago. Denver sprints out to a 21-10 lead, but the Seahawks take a 24-21 edge on a 10 yard toss from Russell Wilson to Golden Tate and lead 31-28 going into the fourth quarter.

The Broncos’ Matt Prater kicks a ?????-yard field goal (the goddamn thing is so sped up I can’t tell) to send affairs into overtime. Some Seahawks dumbass either fair-catches the OT kickoff on the nine or runs it out of the endzone only that far. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie then sacks Wilson in the end zone for the deciding score.

Peyton Manning throws for 318 yards; Marshawn Lynch runs for 193; Tate and Denver’s Demariyus Thomas both have more than 140 yards receiving. Special halftime performance by The Mighty Bombjack Show.
