This is Kotaku. We generally talk about video games, but if you like video games you most likely like technology. And if you like technology you most likely have a mobile phone. If you have a mobile you probably play video games on it. THE CYCLE IS COMPLETE. Mobile World Congress is sort of like E3 for mobile phones and last night there were some seriously big announcements made. Here’s everything you need to know.
Samsung

Samsung announced a ton of new stuff. The big news? The Samsung Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S5: Everything You Need To Know
Well whaddya know, here it is. Everything you need to know about that new phone.
Samsung Gear Fit: The Future Lives On Your Wrist
These are like wristwatches. FROM THE FUTURE. They look really, really awesome.
Nokia

Nokia announced some stuff as well. Including the first Nokia androids. I am excited about this.
Nokia X: The First Nokia Android
And here is the first Nokia Android. It’s called Nokia X which, I’m assuming, means it’s all futuristic and shit.
HTC

They didn’t announce a new mobile phone, but exciting stuff did apparently occur.
It’s all well timed — FOR ME, since I’m about to get a new mobile phone. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I think I’m going to drop the iPhone and get one of the above phones. But which one? Help me people who know about phones, you’re my only hope.

Nothing on the Xperia Z2 that Sony unveiled? I’m tossing up between that and the S5 seeing as HTC haven’t announced anything new. Probably the S5 tbh as my last couple of phones have been Samsung and had no real problems with them
Yep, how is this “what you need to know” when they ignore probably the best phone out of the bunch?
They didn’t though, there is a quite large article. Right here…

Just so that doesn’t seem so harsh, I own a Z and it is probably one of the worst phones ever.
I own one too, and I’d say it’s the best phone ever made. What don’t you like about it?
I just find it to be slow (by god that camera app), the front and rear glass seems to scratch easily, while the tab system provide SOME liquid ingress counter measures they don’t seem reliable as mine don’t sit completely flush with the phone and the fact that the internal speaker is very quiet meaning in order to use any sort of hands free requires either blue tooth speaker or head set.
Sony Xperia Z2.
Yeah, was hoping for a bit of info on that here.
Wouldn’t mind seeing a comparison between that and the Galaxy S5, since my next phone will probably come down to a choice between those two. I’ve got the S3 at the moment and have been pretty happy with it, so could see myself going with another one. But on the other hand, I’ve never had the same brand of phone twice (Motorola, Nokia, HTC, Samsung), so I’m thinking I could go a Sony next time. Especially if it offers some kind of extra PS4 integration above and beyond the standard PS Android app, since I’ll be picking up a PS4 in the not-too-distant future, too.
I dunno, I’m liking my Nexus 5…which is none of those phones…
This. Mark has a Nexus 7 doesn’t he?
I’m loving my Nexus 5, and the price is half what these will be.
My phone is old and outdated compared to these. But I have a feeling I won’t be upgrading any time soon. All I need is something that’s a phone
The Nokia 3310!
Lol, not quite that old.
But to be fair I was still using one of those not that long ago
Snake is still a killer app.
Fo shizzle! I have fond memories of the original. Heck, give me a 3310 any day and I’ll be a happy chap.
I’m on a Note 3, and have zero interest in upgrading unless there is some dramatic increase in battery or there’s some amazing new function that nobody thought of before.
LG G2 still killin it……
Good size, good screen, good speed, good battery……….
I usually just get whichever phone has the biggest battery or best battery life of that generation of phones…… I usually steer clear of Samsung…. I dont like their skin….. Their phone looks nice, and has good features, but something about the skin annoys me…
