Club Nintendo Promotion Offers Free Pokémon X Or Y In March

Club Nintendo Promotion Offers Free Pokémon X Or Y In March

Nintendo is offering a free download code in March for Pokémon X or Pokémon Y to those who register, via Club Nintendo, either a 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS, and one of five games for that platform. The promotion is, obviously, designed to encourage people to buy one of the handhelds, but if for some reason you have one and one of these games laying around unregistered, it’s a free game.

The five games that qualify are rather popular: Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins and Yoshi’s New Island, due for release 14 March.

Once you get the download code for Pokémon X or Y it has to be redeemed by 31 May. More information about Club Nintendo and this promotion, see the link.

3Ds Pokémon Promotion [Club Nintendo]

    • You have to register the console as well I guess.
The moral of the story: Don’t register your next Nintendo console until you can get something for free for doing it.

Also its VERY clear that this offer doesn’t apply to Australians.

  • Unless this has changed in the last hour or so, this offer is only good for US / Canada 3DS customers.

  • Read the fine print next time before posting this shit on Kotaku Australia: “Available in US and Canada only.”

  • This is such rubbish, they encourage you to register your console so I registered mine when I bought it then a month later they were like haha good job idiot, why did you register. If you had waited you would get this free copy of Mario…. You idiot.

    • I had the exact same problem! Bought my console and registered it on the day, a week later I get an email from Nintendo saying if I register my console I get super mario 3d land for free. I was not happy at all.

  • oh man… didn’t realise it was US only – was there a story about the mario promotion for au? I can’t find it if there was… had no idea about that one 🙁
