Hackers Have Accessed Kickstarter’s User Data

While credit card data was not involved in the breach, Kickstarter is advising that users change their passwords here and in any account where the same password is used.

“Accessed information included usernames, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers and encrypted passwords,” the email said (repeated in this blog post.) “Actual passwords were not revealed, however it is possible for a malicious person with enough computing power to guess and crack an encrypted password, particularly a weak or obvious one.”
