Ah sweet victory. Feels good man. I want to give props to the folks who used reverse google search to solve yesterday’s haitaku but were good enough not to spoil it for others. Shout out to B-ob, wizz-fizz and Batguy.
Yesterday’s haiku was indeed Ricochet. It’s worth noting that Fractripro came closest with this post.
Today’s effort comes from B-ob…
An annual bash
has you climbing up that hill.
How hairy are you?
Good luck everyone!
This is HaiTaku. We write haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

Caveman Olympics
Wasn’t it Ugh-lympics?
Oh yeah, forgot that detail. Just remembered it had cavemen in it. Ugh!
Climbing a hill though? Was there an event you did that?
Biker Mice from Mars.
BCs quest for tyres?
That was going to be my guess, but I couldn’t remember anything about it being annual.
COD?
Can’t remember, all I know is that cavemen are hairy.
That was supposed to be in reply to aliasalpha
That’s okay, I’m hairy too
Okami
I can see how you might think some of the answers (some really clever ones!) but nobody is right yet… (ping @hoi_polloi @fractripro @crotchdot @aliasalpha )
Spikes peak?
Chuck Rock?
Royal Rumble
The King of Fighters?
Stumped!
This has got to be Donkey Kong: King of Swing (or its sequel)!!! IT FITS SO WELL!
Actually, thinking about it; DK: Jungle Climber fits a bit better.
If nobody has it by noon tomorrow I’ll try and chime in with a Cluetaku to tide everybody over for the weekend.
Hang on a second Mark!
Didn’t @trikeabout get yesterday’s?

Not on the haiku, for shame. But the screenshot was very familiar indeed. 🙂 Genuinely odd seeing that again after so many years. Thanks for noticing!
A correct guess on the image still counts!
Ok, half an hour late… haven’t prepared anything… gotta think quickly.
It’s been a long road
just getting from there to here.
You’re hogging the game.
That sounds like Desert Bus now! The game isn’t Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors, is it?
It isn’t, but now I wish it was.
It’s time to just go through racing games that might fit then- Diddy Kong Racing might work, or possibly Motorstorm. Maybe I should be thinking of something a bit older…
Older than those options. Generally speaking my Haitaku will be from before 1997: Either fond memories of my childhood, or fervent searching for obscurity on Wikipedia. Which one is this? All will be revealed eventually.
haha, Diddy Kong Racing was literally the first videogame I ever played, so yeah; maybe that’s why I never get your Haitakus!
