Everyone in the comment section yesterday was going through a real existential crisis. But no-one managed to guess the game. Not even Gnawnborg or Crotchdot!
So I’ll just let you know, it was Super Tank Simulator on the Commodore 64, an old Codemasters game in its silly ‘simulator’ series. Nice try everyone!
Today’s haiku comes from Brancha, and it’s a good one!
Starts with homecoming.
That is NOT what Dwarves look like!
That’s a long password.
Good luck everyone!
This is HaiTaku. We write haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

I’m going with “The Boggit”
@markserrels – I’m calling shenannigans. Finally tracked down your “hello” screenshot, and it’s from a demo/crack screen. No wonder none of us could get it right.

Embarrassment!
Dammit, I actually had that version on my old Commodore 64 back in the day (or a release by the same crackers) and still didn’t get it!
OH NO.
I did not know this. Crap. Sorry everyone!
I’m just happy to have closure on why my Googles of “Spectrum simulator” “Sinclair simulator” “Amiga simulator” and, yes, “C64 simulator” didn’t turn up anything. 😛
Quest For Glory 5: Dragon Fire
Or Quest For Glory 4: Shadows of Darkness
Or Quest for glory: So you want to be a hero
Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager (or maybe Shattered Lands)
Biker Mice from Mars!
Faxanadu
I reckon this is it. Back in the day when you had to enter about a 50 digit password to save games.
I wish I was online when this went up. Well done!
I still remember the little bits of paper that littered our lounge room thanks to the passwords in this game alone.
