Peter Cullen Introduces You To Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark

The dulcet, Brokaw-esque baritone of Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) introduces you to Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, due to arrive sometime this year. In science fiction — whether video game or film — nothing says “mailed-in sequel” like a title with a colon followed by “Rise of the SomethingSomething.”

The game will launch on everything: PS4 and PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS and PC. With two new consoles in the mix for 2014, it’s a renaissance for the full Ginsburg for licensed video games.

    • It gets worse… this is apparently supposed to link the prequels set up in the High Moon games with the Bayverse Transformers.

Also, it’s not being made by High Moon… they’re now a Call of Duty map pack studio, following their evisceration last year.

  • It’s a movie tie in and it’s being done by a studio famous for doing lousy movie tie ins.

Of the Three games High Moon Studios did 2 where awesome and 1 was crap and it was the Movie Tie in that was crap. Basically it added a “Stealth Force” mode which was the most powerful mode you had. The Difficulty was so easy that Boss Fights where boring because they took so long but weren’t challenging. Essentially stand and shoot for 1 minute, dodge 3 shots, stand and shoot for another minute.

This game will probably suck, what’s worse is it pairs the awesome High Moon designs with the Crapy Bay Designs.

  • Dear god.

High Moon’s Cybertron games were the best thing to happen for Transformers fans in years. This looks like Activision took a giant steaming Michael bay dump all over it.

  • nothing says “mailed-in sequel” like a title with a colon followed by “Rise of the Something-Something.”“Dark Something” is another lazy title too. This is like a perfect storm of lazy.
