World Cyber Games To Stop Holding Tournaments

OnGamers is reporting that the World Cyber Games (WCG) is will cease holding tournaments in 2014, meaning that all events, including the World Cyber Games finals are now defunct.

An email sent by WCG CEO Brad Lee to his partners confirms the news.

“There are many great moments based on your dedication,” he wrote in the email. “Although the brand has disappeared but WCG spirit will remain forever in the hearts of each player and fans.

“This moment is very difficult and painful for me. However, I must say goodbye to the WCG.”

The WCG was one of the pillars of the competitive gaming circuit, and its absence will be felt by everyone involved in that scene, from the players, to the organisers to the fans themselves.
