The Black Series is the best thing to happen to Star Wars action figures since, well, forever. Even today, over 30 years on from the first toys, Hasbro’s main line of figures sucks. But not these babies.
Three new lines have been announced in the series, consisting of eight new figures in all. In 2014 we’re getting two Luke Skywalkers (Bespin & Return of the Jedi), a Darth Vader (with removable mask), a Chewbacca, a Sandtrooper, a Clone Trooper, a Stormtrooper, Anakin Skywalker and a prequel Obi-Wan.
They retail for $US20, but I have the Rebel Pilot Luke Skywalker, and they’re worth every cent.

If they’re the best I’d hate to see the worst… because although the stormtroopers look ok? Everything else that isn’t plain white armour looks UGLY AS ***K.
It could always be worse…http://flipgeeks.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Jar-Jar-Binks.jpg
Chewie doesn’t look too bad and Vadar will look bad arse with the helmet on.
Luke’s face in the last one looks really wrong. Can’t say what it is for sure but it’s just off.
it just seems to be a difficulty in replicating an actors face into plastic in general. Anakin and Obi Wan look a bit off as well. The second Luke figure looks more like Paul McGann than Mark Hamill
With all those burns and how lacking in mobility that suit seemed, I wonder if poor Vader can even pick that helmet up
Usually when Kotaku post action figures, they’re amazeballs. These just look like regular action figures form the toy shop, which shows how crap regular star wars figures are.
The first series (back when the first movie came out) were pretty bad but they were the first generation of action figures.
The Power of the Force was pretty hideous with their He-Man sized chests and shoulders.
These are better but there’s something about that lazy pose from the stormtrooper…
These are probably the best small size Star Wars action figures (under 7″) that Hasbro have produced, but they are certainly not the *best* Star Wars action figures. That title goes to 12″ Star Wars figures produced by Sideshow and Hot Toys, namely the recent Darth Vader and Bespin Luke Skywalker.
Chewbacca looks like a munted Bigfoot
They are US$20……so $500AU each?
